So 4 years ago on Christmas my girlfriends dad passed away and ever since she has hated Christmas. This morning she woke up to me playing this song in her living room and broke down crying, laughing and smiling. A few minutes later her mom pulled me off to the side and hugged me and thanked me because that was the first time she's seen her smile on Christmas since it happened. Proud Boyfriend.

When I was 20 years old, I experienced the worst heartbreak I have ever felt. I was hopeless, depressed, hurt, and confused. I was lower than I never knew was possible.
A few months after the breakup, I went to a concert.
Lee Brice was the closing act. He played all of his greatest hits.
At the end of the show, I was a bit disappointed.
He didn’t play the song I wanted him to play.
Then a few seconds later he said he had one more song.
The music started to play and he started to sing,
It was the first time in so long that I felt ok.
I saw everyone around me singing along and feeling the same things I was feeling.
It was one of the best moments of my life.
It was this song. I will never forget it.


Now at nearly 26, I am experiencing this kind of heartbreak again. I can only hope that a moment like this will come and help me feel ok.. even just for a moment.

I asked a girl out a week before homecoming. She did color guard and missed most of it but she came, this was the last slow dance. She was my first girlfriend and still is to this day my girlfriend. We danced to this song and it’s my first dance. To this day I can’t listen to it without losing my mind. I love her so much and it’s only been almost 5 months.
