Okra seeds are some of the easiest seeds to save. The key is knowing when to pick the pods, and when not to.

Very helpful video. Made it simple and easy to understand due to what they should look like as well as when they are NOT ready.

Thanks for showing not only the okra pod and seeds that are ready, but also the pod and seeds that are not ready. This really helps to show the distinction for someone who is only getting started with saving okra seeds.

Thank you for showing the pods that were reading to have seeds saved. I had cut off some green ones which had gotten too big and set them aside to dry. The seeds are green and black; my suspicion of them being Immature was correct. Life has been crazy lately and I have not harvested in weeks. Seems all is not lost. Those large pods will be kept on the stem to allow the seeds to finish maturing. Future seed production was one goal for growing them this year. Glad to see I didn't technically mess it up.

If I let them dry on the stalk, will that kill the plant? I don't want to kill them and that's why I don't let them get too dry

If I cut off too soon, can I leave the orka on counter for it to dry out?
