A makeshift cell, a daring escape: Oregon trial brings kidnapper to justice

The Oregonian/OregonLive's Maxine Bernstein reported on the two-week trial in federal court that brought to light a pattern of crimes by defendant Negasi Zuberi. A final twist as the case was headed to the jury threatened to hold up the final verdict.

I don't understand the need to tell the world and his wife that these ladies were sex workers?! They don't disclose any of his prior criminal activity, so why tell people this? They could have just that they had been kidnapped off the street. It undermines the victims case(s) from the get go.
