My Momma passed away and I’m having a difficult time discarding her kitchen towels and potholders. I was hoping I could find a way to use them. She cooked many a meal for the sick as well as her family.

What a fun idea! Some of these make me think the background is a bit of rug or carpet, rather than a towel. You're so right that the finished products look far better than the towels did to start with. And that last little piece you showed that you haven't finished yet might make a great bookmark!
