Two weeks on from a fantastic opening leg of the WowHydrate Super Sevens Series at Newbury, the NextGenXV live stream cameras head to London Irish’s Hazelwood complex on Saturday for leg 2.
Samurai RFC won both the men’s and women’s Cups at the opening leg, in thrilling finals against Hong Kong and will be keen for more of the same this weekend, and you will be able to watch all of the action from the main pitch on Saturday.
The WowHydrate Super 7s Series is contested over four legs, Newbury a fortnight ago, London Irish this weekend, Stafford in a fortnight, and finally at Aldershot on the 25th June. Teams are awarded points at each event according to their finishing position, and the teams with most points at the end of the four legs will be crowned as the WowHydrate Super Sevens Series champions.

As a result of leg 1’s double triumph, Samurai top both the men’s and women’s standings ahead of Saturday’s leg 2. In the men’s competitions they are drawn against Army Reds, The Lambs, and Karuta 7s in Pool A, while Hong Kong, whom they beat in a final that went to golden point, are drawn with Wooden Spoon, Navy Sharks, and Stunts in Pool B.
Espana 7s Emerging were one of the top sides last time out and are in Pool C along with Apache, Lions, and Nigeria Stallions, with Pool D containing China, Ramblin Jesters, Scimitar Storm, and Hammerheads 7s.
Over in the Women’s competition Samurai are again in Pool A alongside Hammerheads, Bath Rugby, Wooden Spoon, and Scimitar Spoon. Over in Pool B are Hong Kong, Army Reds, Savvy Panthers, Lionnesses, and Hammerhead Barbarians.
The day kicks off at 10am, running through the day up until the Women’s Cup Final at 7.20pm, with the Men’s Cup final preceding it at 7pm.
The schedule sees the live stream kick off with back to back games featuring the leg 1 winners, Samurai Women’s taking on Scimitar Storm Women’s at 10am, and Samurai Men’s taking on Karuta 7s men’s at 10.20am.
