My apologies for uploading this video and pulling it down again - The first version didn't have any subtitles! Serves me right for not following my standard rendering process or double checking the rendered video before I uploaded. Sorry! Hope you're doing well and staying healthy. Enjoy!

He is too humble! He put real design, engineering, and thought in to making his products! He one hundred percent qualifies as a hacker and developer in my book.

"DIY" yeah the dude is way to humble for what he is doing.

At the end when he said that he wished he could have a direct conversation, makes you realise how agitating it must be to want to communicate directly with someone with the same interests and can only imagine what could be potentially achieved if there were zero language barriers.

This is actually nothing new but innovation takes on many forms. To take something to a new level to make something do things never envisioned by the original designers is and always has been wicked awesome. Thanks for sharing this it was nice to see.

Chinese DIY is at a different level. Respect to this humble guy. Thanks for sharing.

Yeke basically defines what hacking is. Hacking is to take a gadget and say: "Okay, that's nice, but I wonder what *else* I can make it do the manufacturer didn't intend it to do."

Thank you for bringing the human side of the markets. It's great to see the people that make things to make the things we love better. Keep it up. I love the look so far of the new space.

I like how humble he is! If I could do that "DIY" I would be soooo proud of myself (especially after working on it for a year)! Really great insight into someone in the actual market there.

That was a great interview, he was VERY humble but a genius self taught engineer by all means! Great video

Hey man, not a frequent commenter, but just wanted to say that you have enormous potential on this format! You’re a great host and although this isn’t the type of content that brings billons of views, it is one of the kind that will survive generations. Your earnest questions and connection with that inventor there surpasses barriers. Really appreciate your effort putting into this, and may you come up with many more. It is about time that people see that innovation comes in all forms, shapes, colours and races, and certainly not confined to the Bay Area or silícion valley. These are the unsung heroes we never have the opportunity to learn about. Keep it up!

As an American I have to say it is very refreshing to watch your videos. Being constantly bombarded with the fact that buying Chinese copies is bad for the economy and that they are of poor quality gives a certain connotation to China and it's culture. Watching your videos has really shown the creativity behind the products and reiterates the fact that these products are someones livelihood. They aren't copying products to undermine others, they are doing it to put food on the table. This is definitely something that American media fails to show.

Cool interview, it put a smile on my face. I really like how this guy follows his passion. And it’s definitely not simple DIY, I can understand why he looks at it that way but this definitely feels more like a clever hack! Nice one 💪🏻

Wow. Both fantastic editing and translation. You three were able to create a seamless dialogue of back and forth on such a complicated and super niche subject.

Can't wait till you are back doing your thing after this whole situation blows over. I would love to visit some cable making factories in China!

I think there's a new name for that kind of DIY, in Chinese it's called '魔改', in English it is 'modifying like magic'
