Why does python takes so much space in memory to store an integer variable.

In this video I have explained why does python programming language takes so much space to store an integer value. Because generally the space taken by an integer is 4 bytes in C or C++ but in python it takes 28 bytes (in 64 bits system) which is large compared to C or C++.
