As always, depends what you wanna do, if you're doing a one of script that you can run overnight or gluing programs together, python is much better.
If you're writing a program that is performance sensitive, c++ is better.

If you declare all the variable types and function return types in Python...then you can compile it...because that is the thing preventing a compiler to exist...so you end up with a slightly more verbose version of Python but still much easier than C++.

Python is great for prototyping. You can spray code fast and dirty to test an idea. But C++ is strongly-typed and can be made to perform well. Use Python to allow cheap junior programmers to be productive, and reserve C++ for the power coders who need speed and stability and security. It's not that hard to glue them together for your final product.
