The counter weight is to partially offset the weight of the blade holder assembly and blade. It allows momentum to build before the pull stroke.... The orbital motion allows better purchase of the teeth into the material.

I bought one off of Market Place. I hope to crack into it soon, thanks for the in depth video. The orbital switch won’t turn to the on position completely. Any thoughts on what the issue may be?

A small pin came out when I took it apart. I only see two possible spots where it could go but not sure which one. One is in the orange orbital selector the other is in a hole on top before the spring any help would be great. Little pin has black ends

My saw will not reciprocate unless I push on the blade holder. you almost got to the part I wanted to see where the shaft is connected.

Have this same one. Sometimes pulling the trigger won’t do anything but if I spin the little fan in the slot in front of the logo with a screw driver, it works until I let go of the trigger. Any suggestions?

I have the same saw and it's been jamming also making a loud noise. Any one knows where I can send it to be fixed or if it's worth doing so.

By saw blade is stuck in the bed any suggestions on how to remove it

Love the saw had it less than a year and stopped working sounds like something striped out. Sealing your video the gear is gone. Ridgid not responding won't answer. Any suggestions or strike down bad service and go with something else. That's a lot of money to trash.
