if the purpose is just storing large amount of files in an external drive then go for the HDD but if u need to access the the file "on the go" like video or audio editing on the go then go for a SSD . but for an internal drive SSD maybe highly recommend as it makes loading apps and booting time much faster but at the same time its recommended to spec out storage to the maximum as per ur needs (the applications u use may take up much more storage than 256gb or 512 gb of storage ).

Do you think backing up photos and videos and old memories in to HDD is better option than in SSD or vice versa and in terms of longevity cuz I'm moving away from cloud storage due it's cost.
