My mother was an artist. A real one. She created hundreds of beautiful paintings in her life. She used technique, talent and skill to create works of aesthetic value. These people? WTF?

I've been saying this for about 20 years. I went to the "Museum of Modern Art" in San Francisco when I was 16, and was AUDIBLY angry about the stupidity of MOST of it. (My teacher wasn't happy with my voiced complaints lol).

But, Ben is 100%

It's the stupidest crap (and in many cases vile) that people give attention to.

Is anyone surprised by this? These people literally do what toddlers do (draw on the wall, hit things with other things, stack things and watch them fall over), and then call it art. These are the same people who think children are so pure and innocent that we actually should emulate them in some way or let them make big decisions, and we have a generation of people who aren't growing up. This makes perfect sense to me.

I always flip flop between if good art is subjective or not, but its examples like this that make me believe that good art is definitely objective and there is objectively bad art too

I went to the art museum in Cleveland, Ohio, and walked around, looking at all the magnificent paintings. Paintings that looked like they were real life. Then went to the modern art section and was embarrassed for the people who did that crap stuff that anyone could do.
