Why does no one ever just acknowledge that growing on YouTube requires all the things you mentioned AND luck? I've been doing all the things/working on growing my channel, with all my energy and passion, for several years now, and honestly, I feel like it comes down to luck for most people. Right video, right time... Does anyone else agree? Obvs once you do actually grow, being good at what you do and being consistent are going to be the things that sustain you and keep your growth going. But actually growing a little in the first place.... I dunno, I think you have to be really lucky.

Great story, and I am happy to see you are satisfied. Being a YouTuber is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of help from Fame -ster of course) will always pay off at the end.

I started the year under 100 subs and I’m at 326! My word for 2024 is consistency and I know if I can just be consistent, I can take off in 2024.

I finally broke through last week. My first video popped off. My second video is a 1/10, and will be next. My third is a banger too. I think monetization is lagging behind but I should be monetized like tomorrow or this afternoon. It really is just consistency and understand what unique point of view you have to offer. Then finding out how to package that to the right audience

Your example of the audience persona was *super* helpful for me. I've never been able to define who my target audience is... until now. Here it is:

People in their 20s-30s that want to make art and creative endeavours a part of their daily life. They like to think deeply about the concept behind the artwork, but they also want art to be a fun thing their life. The stuffy pretentiousness of the art world is something they despise, and so they turn to YouTube and my channel for a more laid-back, honest and fun approach to art-making. They may be hobbyists but they cherish their personal time. They will often visit new exhibits, and may even handcraft their own gifts for loved ones.

Whatcha think??

Hiya gorgeous, I started Youtube about 6 months ago and wow what a eye opener 😳 to how much fun it is, hard work and dedication to detail it is!

I now appreciate people on youtube that I follow so much more than before as now I realise the hard work that goes into filming, editing, thinking of fresh content and trying not to subconsciously copy others and come up with your own video ideas.

Im still only small in the beauty world but I've already got a small following and have been told they like my videos and ask where I am if I miss a upload as they like my videos so much, which is awesome!

I never expected that to even happen!?

So I will keep going and see what happens along the way. I'm happy I've made friends already in the makeup community.

😊 ❤ Take care everyone and keep going!

Great timing! and really helpful! I am retiring from my job this week (partly for health reasons). Not what I had planned but it does now mean I can go full time You-Tube with my channels. I'm super excited and yes, I need to just stop worrying about whether my videos are in my 'niche' (weight loss/keto) but concentrate on my audience, women over 50 and other things they are interested in as well.

Katie you have such great advice. I just became monetized, and I'm frozen in fear on where to go next 😂 I don't want to kill this opportunity out of the gate. I will be rewatching all your vids.❤

It's great to know that it's ok to follow your own schedule, in terms of how often to upload. Thanks for these practical advice.👍

This Video was really motivating! I thought about giving up on my channel a few times this year because the numbers just aren’t growing as I would like them to grow. I have been doing YouTube for over 4 years now and sometimes it gets really frustrating to put so much work into your videos and still feel stagnant. But luckily I pushed through and I am so motivated for the new year! I talked about my thoughts on YouTube growth in my latest video and that really helped me to figure out how I am feeling about my channel and creating videos. I truly feel like 2024 will be a great year. To all the other small creators: we can do it! Keep on creating and more importantly have fun while creating and I am sure we all will see progress!

Wow, I just found you yesterday, and I am glad about it, it is the perfect timing and it seems I landed in the perfect channel, after looking into many places, I was finally able to find something that I feel I can trust and I can reference to! I am just starting this journey but I don't want to waste my time, I need useful content and guidance like I just found here! I need to make this work for me, I am tired of the regular jobs and I really need to make this my full-time job. Now that I got fired from my last job, I feel I can only do one thing: take advantage of it making the most valuable time to do what I really want. Thank you for sharing so valuable content ❤

Great video Katie! I have a goal to go FT with YT next year, probably a bit too confident but hey, the way I see it the larger the goals the more I’ll work towards hitting them and the further along I’ll be in the journey regardless!

I started my creator thing about a month ago...I was doing gig courier work...but the company suddenly wanted drivers to let the app mess with the phones battery system. My cue it's time to make my channel more than a hobby.
My channel mission is assisting grieving people to get past it, through technology!
I plan to add more topics, maybe a 2nd channel.
❤❤❤
I have a van too! Gonna make it a mobile studio!

Really thankful for your videos. I’ve been so interested in starting a channel for YEARS and I’ve finally bought some equipment this week to make it happen. Your videos will definitely be my guides along the way ❤
