Dave Grohl on drums is Animal in real life

I love the journalistic cut "Well that was Nirvana...." while Kurt takes a bath in the drumset in the background

Dave Grohl on drums is a beast. Kurt, Kris and Dave were an outstanding band. RIP Kurt

I remember the day Kurt Cobain died, I was still in the womb, but my mom temporarily birthed me so I could watch the news bulletin and grieve with the rest of the world. She put me back in and I was properly born a couple of months later

The random "I'm a turd" He threw in there kills me.

Love how he starts with Rape Me when they threatened them with heavy consequences if they did it. He sang it long enough to freak them out but not long enough to be cut off, Genius!!! What great and heavy sound from only three guys! And they sound as good live as on any album… that’s real talent 🤟🤟🤟

Those drums owed Dave fifty bucks and refused to pay...

Thirty years later and this still gives me chills. Nirvana was and still is one of my favorite rock bands. RIP Kurt 🙏🏻

I don't think people really understand why Kurt and Nirvana was such an important thing. Kurt represented every kid who was bullied, who was different, who was gay, who didn't want to conform. He wasn't a punk icon, he was all of us who didn't fit in. We didn't want to buy the best sport shoes, we didn't want to be heroes, we didn't want to be thanked for our service we just wanted to be. We just wanted to hang out with our friends, listen to records and play video games without being given endless shit. We were cool just being. Kurt Cobain is my hero for accidentally allowing us to just be who we are. Thank you Kurt.

I can’t even imagine anything today being that good. So glad I grew up with this.

My favourite thing about Kurt was his chord progressions- so unique and weird; they almost don't make any sense until his vocal melody lays over top.

Not one of us out there thought for a second that this incredible era of music would ever end.
Damn.

I still remember this as if it was yesterday. I listened to Nirvanas albums over and over, but never saw them except for the album cover and the music videos on MTV. Rumours spread that Nirvana would perform on VMA, since I live in Sweden and it was very late for us on MTV due to the time difference so I programmed the VCR to record it. The day after, this performance blew my mind. I first couldn't recognize Kurt because of his haircut. It might have been their best live performance ever. I watched it at hundreds of times, taking notes of every detail. Legendary is the word, a word that is used a little bit too often these days but this is really legendary, if anything is.

Oh the 90's....how I miss you. I was 19 when this was recorded and SO full of life!

I love how the sloppiness of Nirvana was literally part of what made them so good. Kurt messes with the lyrics, the bass cuts out, Krist hits himself on the head with his bass and runs off stage, and Kurt kicks him in the ass... What else? Who cares? It's a great performance anyway.

I can't believe Dave's drumsticks didn't explode from him hitting so hard. He was a beast.

0:13, Kurt starts playing ‘Rape Me’’. Nirvana had originally planned to play this but MTV forbade it and told them they’d be cut if they did - hence the band’s surprise. Apparently they were seconds away from being cut.

I've always been suprised at a lot of concerts they were so close to the audience. Even people going on stage to crowdsurf and no one batted an eye or were scared. They were right beside Kurt and Krist but never touched them. You'd be terrified now that someone was going to harm you. Scary the way the world is gone.
