Glad to see 3/5 . It's true that i m highly emphatic but I never know how to react and give emotional support to people.
- INTP

As an ISTP I very much appreciate that you recognized that we are skilled at empathizing, it’s just that we act on what we believe to be the wisest course of action, which usually doesn’t involve prioritizing the emotional component of the situation.

As an INFP, I immediately feel the emotions and pain of others and automatically put myself into others' shoes. It can be helpful but might get too draining as well. The more emotions (especially negative ones) an INFP has experienced in life, the better they can relate to people. What might be different from Fe doms is that Fi doms sense emotions subjectively not objectively. Emotions are complex and INFPs sense a wide range of emotions (e.g. just like an entire colour palet there are different shades of blue for instance, so in terms of feelings, there are several different levels or kinds of sadness). Fi is really sensitive but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

As an INTJ
I can say, i can understand how someone is feeling by putting myself in their shoes, but can't truly empathize with them . Like i understand, but i don't care ( i only care for those who are really really close to me, but unluckily there's no one)

I'm surprised I rank higher than I thought - INTP

As an INTJ, I'm not that indifferent. In fact, I can easily understand other people's feelings, sympathize with them and provide a genuine emotional support. Mostly, I'm sensitive for those who I hold dear but, in fact, I can perceive strangers' feelings too. However, it takes enormous energy from me and I don't usually try to understand someone who isn't close to me and I avoid overly emotional people, they make me mad, I can't stand them at all. I still tend to give some practical advice rather than console(or do both haha) though sometimes I just soothe people too. And I'm ready to support someone even for a long period, for years if needed.
Actually, I used to be much more indifferent, but something made me change suddenly.

It is NO SURPRISE that INTJs score a 1 out of 5. In my 20s, I could sympathize but not empathize. But things suddenly changed in my 30s, and I started to FEEL a person's pain, even if I wasn't close to them. (A VERY DRAINING PROCESSES. Naps are required.) Now, at 37, I can admit that it's not perfect empathy. It doesn't automatically come on, but I'm glad that I have it.

Ayo, that's literally the amount of stars I've chose on poll, 2⭐/5⭐ posted 19h ago, so damn accurate for a ESTP

I can sympathize and is aware about what people are feeling i can sense it immediately, it's just that i don't know how to approach them and feel awkward about it. - INTP

INTJ here

When I think logically about the individual functional stack of each type, I would order it this way:

5: ENFJ, ESFJ, INFJ, ISFJ
4: ENTP, ESTP
3: ISFP, INFP, ENFP, ESFP
2: INTJ, ISTJ, INTP, ISTP
1: ENTJ, ESTJ

The most empathic function there is, is Fe, so it is logical that Fe doms and users with Fe as an auxiliary function are the most empathic of all. The ENTP and the ESTP has also Fe. After that would come Fi doms and users with Fi as an auxiliary function. Why is Fi only after that? Because Fi does not refer to others but to itself. The Fi can show empathy to others, but only when he looks deeply into himself and can compare this with his own experiences and his own feelings. At least if you go by the meaning of Fi. After that would come INTJ and ISTJ because these types also use Fi. I have now put INTP and ISTP on the same level here with INTJ and ISTJ because although these two have Fe only as an inferior function, they do have Fe. The ones that end up at the bottom here are logically the types who don't have Fe in their stack and they have Fi as an inferior function.

This is only basis for the fact that I logically refer to the function type of the types. I am fully aware that Te doms can also feel empathy.

For info: I have no problem with your arrangement I just wanted to mention this once.

At times INFJs just wanna burn their empathy. Those feelings are not even ours but still we...ugh -INFJ

i always get tripped up whenever a personality test asks if i prefer being around "logical or emotional people"
i can understand people's emotions, but my instinct is to get away as quickly as possible when i have to deal with people who are hysterical to the point of being impossible to reason with

I am lost in the sauce with emotional intelligence. I have to rely on patterns, thoughts, and experience. It's not that I don't have it, it takes time for me to 'feel' things out which is not my best ability. This is one of the reasons why INFP's pass through my barriers pretty easy. 1 is accurate. ENTJ.

As an INTJ, I'm frequently the go to person who people come to, to bawl their eyes out or just to seek advice, be it family members, friends or colleagues, even bosses.
I read people body language and facial expressions mostly correct.
I always listen attentively and able to break down their issues by asking questions, to guide them through their problems.
I sympathise.
However, I actually can't connect on emotional level, perhaps this is what enables me to focus on listening and problem solving.
But I'm really annoyed with those who has repeating problems and failed to implement the agreed solutions, to the point that I refuse to meet these people, eventhough they're my close friends, because they've wasted my time, effort and brain juice.
I think some people are in love with having problems.

Before it gets started.. my fellow infps, we already know where that path leads, aren't we.

From my expirence as INTJ, I can understand how people feel about something, but I do not like to expose how I feel because it is hard to show. I, of course, keep speechless when someone is crying or overwhelmming.

Points formula for dominant/auxillary functions:
Fe = +2
Fi = +2
Si = +2
Ne = +1 if dominant, else +2
Ni = 0 if with Te-aux, else +2
Ti = +1 if with Se-dom, else 0
Te = -2 if dominant, else 0
Se = 0
Add +1 point to the total and you get the final score for Emotional Intelligence.

Why you hit all the marks for me man, I’m INTJ and it’s hard for me to understand someone’s perspective unless it’s similar to mine
