Many airports in the world used to pick up passengers from arrivals location itself. I don’t know why this is changed?? All because of making money for parking fee and others. It should be stopped immediately.

It is the fault of construction, look at paris airport well designed, no problem like chennai airport.
You must consult foreign architects and consultant.
Recently i came to chennai from paris and i met the same prob’ems.

The AAI in Chennai appears to have not applied rheir brains in implementing the new pick up oint. Even in much busier Airports like San Francisco, theyvallow pick up at gates, but no stopping.

From arrival portico Take lift to the departure hall in first floor. Ask your car to go to departure drop point to pick you up. Of course, this will work for those with own cars.

It’s purely a design fault. Before designing the architecture, one should understand the actual inflow and peak flow, as well as how it can accommodate more people even 20 years down the line with increased passenger inflow. They have not planned for this properly; constantly changing the process and approach doesn’t make any sense at all.

I am sure this problem cannot be solved by AAI, Chennai because of 1) wrong design of parking area layout 2) Too many cars/two wheelers calling at Airport 24/7. 3) Too many flights arrival shedule at the Airport 4) Discipline and logistic management by AAI personnel and CSF are essential from arrival platform to cabs-pickup point 5) Sr.official of AAI, Chennai should be accountable for easy and prompt exit of cabs/Two wheelers' pickups.

This is really painful for all the passengers, especially very senior peoples have to struggle a lot with their baggages. Govt should really consider changing this trouble creating ideas for Passengers
