Just Keep Moving Forward

A turtle crawled slowly toward the pond.
A rabbit hopped by and stopped. “You’ll never make it before the sun sets,” he said.
The turtle didn’t stop. “Maybe not, but I’ll get there.”
The rabbit laughed. “I’d already be there by now.”
The turtle kept going, step by step, until he finally reached the pond just as the stars appeared.
The rabbit, still nearby, blinked. “I didn’t think you would.”
The turtle smiled. “Doesn’t matter how fast you go if you keep moving.”
Sometimes, steady effort beats fleeting speed.
