Edit: I retract my statement I started using a setup with a catfish deck and y trucks/wheels and level up bushings I’m leaps and bounds better. What I can add to this long ass comment is that you don’t need a pro set up to have a good time but I think you’ll have a better time with a pro set up.


Biggest difference imo is the “finish” and how the set up sounds, my performance tech deck is almost as fun as any of my $150 set ups, if you just put brt replicas and some decent wheels on a tech deck and it’s basically a pro setup

tbh any deck even tech deck will feel great with foam tape and bushings. Bearing wheels are nice but wheels and trucks tend to be costly so save those for last if you stick with the hobby.
