As a Gen X woman who has experienced grape, workplace harassment, and even an attack from a colleague, I deeply understand the lasting pain and trauma these situations cause. I don’t take these issues lightly because I’ve lived them.

That’s why I feel conflicted about cases where harmful behavior is alleged but doesn’t rise to the level of criminal conduct. In situations like Armie Hammer’s, while his behavior MAY have been manipulative, mentally abusive, or unsettling, the LA police found no evidence of a crime. I empathize with the women involved—they deserve support and help to process their experiences. However, it’s important to distinguish between behavior that is deeply troubling and behavior that constitutes a criminal offense.

I also believe in personal accountability. If someone encounters behavior that feels "creepy" or abusive, it’s vital to leave the situation as soon as possible. I stayed in a toxic, mentally abusive relationship for ten years before learning how to walk away, and I understand how hard that can be. Still, recognizing harm and protecting yourself is crucial.

At the same time, canceling someone without legal proof undermines fairness and due process. Public accusations that don’t lead to criminal charges shouldn’t automatically end someone’s career. This approach risks minimizing the severity of true sexual assault cases and creates a culture where allegations alone are enough to destroy lives.

Ultimately, while these women MAY have been hurt and traumatized, we must approach these situations with balance. Survivors need support, but fairness demands that we don’t conflate harmful or unsettling behavior with criminality when there is no evidence of a crime.

If you watch his interview with Piers Morgan, you'll understand that no charges were pressed once the investigators got access to BOTH side of the conversation, where his lover was goading him/encouraging him to say some of the things he said that she later submitted to the media with HER part of the conversations deleted/missing, in order to incriminate him/possibly get money out of it/revenge. If anything, what he experienced was revenge porn more than anything, but instead of photos/videos, it was his explicit sexting that was leaked/sold.
