The Hayabusa incident

Показать описание
On October 22nd 2001, the career of a pro wrestling legend came to a screeching, tragic halt.
Hayabusa, the heart and soul of FMW, attempted a springboard moonsault from the middle rope. He lost his footing and landed directly on the top of his head – paralyzing him instantly and ending his career. He would never wrestle again.
Hayabusa was a unique masked wrestler who blended the hardcore ethos of his home promotion FMW, with a thrilling Lucha style of wrestling. He looked like a Mortal Kombat character and he pulled off moves that felt like they belonged in a video game. He was arguably the face of FMW in the late 90s and known throughout the world.
But I’d like to leave you on an upbeat here.. In 2015, after 14 years of being paralyzed, Hayabusa walked to the ring unassisted for the first time since his accident for a ceremonial 10 count. It is a truly moving moment and I have to warn you, if you go look it up online and watch it, it will make you cry.
