There is an exciting clinical trial for twice-yearly HIV prevention injections! The results so far are incredibly hopeful; no women who received the injection contracted HIV, while about 2% of women who took daily PrEP pills became infected

The trial, called PURPOSE 1, enrolled over 5,300 cisgender women between the ages of 16 and 26. 

Alongside this trial, PURPOSE 2 is underway in other countries to test the injection in anyone assigned male at birth who has sex with men.
