SVS Prime ELEVATION Speaker Unboxing!

The brackets are great, they have a foam pad that create a nice firm handshake to keep away any unwanted vibration. It does such a good job that at first I thought it was magnetic. The bracket also leaves some space for the rear port, but not so much room that it would look bad.

I'll be giving a more detailed review once I have some time with them. I did watch San Andreas. Aside from a "couple" of factual inaccuracies (lol), there was definitely some good bass, and the height effects were certainly a new twist!

I updated the X6200w AVR after the movie, so I'll have to try some scenes in the Atmos vs DTS:X Neuro. I'm sure I'll need to tinker with placement to get it dialed in.

Subwoofers should reproduce quality sound with authority throughout the humanly audible bass spectrum (20-100 hertz). Most ported subwoofers do not.

Here is the setup at the time of upload:

Provided on a demo basis by SVS:

LG 4K 3D that I replaced previous Vizio with a Square Trade type warranty. Love the LG, some issues aside.

Measurement Mic for use with Room EQ Wizard:

SVS prime series especially matt ash black have most beautiful design ever. I haven't seen nicer speakers and they sound sooo good

Hey, I know you have probably already installed your height channel speakers where you like them but in your video, you mentioned that you would put them over your head and I don’t know if that’s a good idea for height channel speakers normally you place them on the wall up high near the ceiling so you can have the overhead sound effects. I will also place them a little closer and towards the TV so that the speaker sound will hit you and not run down the side of the wall near your window if you have them too wide. very nice I have the. Klipsch Dolby Atmos height channel speakers, the reference series. They are awesome.

Nice unboxing! Solid speaker build. Just wondering, noticed a rear open port in the back. Assuming the speakers will be flush mounted, is that a no-no to cover up that port? like it will compromise their sound? Nice Auro 3D train effect in the background ;)

These look like they would be great as back surrounds for a room with a listening position a little close to the back wall. Or even the 2nd layer of speakers in an Auro 3D system. Solid unboxing video btw

Nice speakers, and good to see them in the If they were Dolby Licenced then they would have a paper "full range" driver and that lame Dolby crossover. ;)

whats your thoughts so far, currently review 4 svs elevation speakers my self for my home theater group, running 5.2.4 with my denon x4200. so far they passed atmos and dtsx testing, still need to test auro3d. Then as LCR, surrounds, bipolar and dipolar as well. love the versatility of them

Looking at the angle of the speaker, it looks like the sound is still gonna travel over your head as opposed to hitting you straight in the face.

As far as unboxing videos go that was pretty good IMO. You show everything up close and go through all the bits in the box.

As far as the prime elevation not being "Atmos" rated I don't think that makes that big a difference in your case. As they are not "Atmos modules" which have to bounce the sound off the ceiling and therefore probably do need a specialised driver array that fires a tighter than normal sound I think most small bookshelf speakers can be re-purposed for height channels absolutely fine. I use 4 Dali Fazon Satellite speakers as my height / Atmos speakers and couldn't be happier with them.

Really looking forward to hopefully seeing you do a review on the X6200W. Also a review on Atmos / DTS:X and possibly the various upmixing capabilities of the receiver and format in general.

Hope you enjoy your new equipment!!!! All very exciting I'm sure.

Where did you place your svs atmos elevation speakers at? Do they work like there suppose to?
I got today a pair of klipsch rp-140sa Dolby atmos elevation speakers and place them on top of my klipsch towers and tested it out with a movie Warcraft in Dolby atmos and can hear sound above me.

Always like your videos
I just bought these in Piano Black Gloss, I think they sound amazing for Atmos & DTS, also dont be afraid to set it at 12db.
If interested I also have videos on my channel of my HomeTheater setup, btw nice setup as well.

Congrats for the new receiver! I know basically are the same products but any major difference in sound quality comparing with the Marantz? As for the elevation speakers... really versatile products that will solve a lot of position problems! But being so small, they will go loud enough to match the rest of the system? Or they don't have to much work to do other than some effects?

I'm curious how they'll perform?
Coverage & calibration ofcourse is everything
in any surround sound setup.
Currently I'm in a 7.1 sat system
in a 12x12 front room.
In 2005 Panasonic designed & released a
sat speaker line that were modeled & tuned
for motion picture specifically.
2 way sats & 3 way center with spheroid guided super tweeters.
Best they ever made.
After calibration they massacred my prior Boston Acoustics.
I bring this up for a reason.
As you know, Motion picture sound is a calibration-frequency driven animal.
7 of Your Prime Elevation Speakers may be the perfect surround
sound matched kit out there.
Towers & bookshelf models may be out performed by your little
Prime E's when it comes to movies.
With the Subwoofer powered up ofcourse.
I'm anxious to know how they sound once calibrated.
As I said, 7 of those Prime E's might be the best all around choice
for a person entering Home Theater.
Hell, they may be the best all around period for that use,
as they're timber's are matched.
You're a lucky man!
Keep us posted ok?
~ peace

how is this Front height, rear height placement compared to Ceiling speaker or upfiring speaker?

FH and RH definitely easily to mount for most of us, but does it really sound like Atmos mean, sound from above?

Are these are sold as a pair or individual speakers?

Thanks in advance.
