That was someone she loved, that she lost at a very young age. You shouldnt be pushing anything on her when it comes to that. I lost a very close male in my life when i was in middle school. He gave me a ring the weekend before he sadly passed and i havent taken it off since. Ive been in a relationship with my boyfriend for the last 6 years and he understands how much the ring means to me and would never ask me to stop wearing it. I think he should back off on it but thats just my opinion.

My husband has an entire album of his first love who passed in rather tragic circumstances. I have pics of my exes. Just because you're married doesn't mean you are no longer human. We've been married for 21 years, together for 26. People who can't handle their loved ones life before them don't deserve them. Grow df up.

I'm sorry bestie, I'm going to have to disagree this time. I don't think OP is the AH, simply because it's been 2+ years since they've been married. And years since that relationship ended. Yes it's okay to keep his memory alive if she so chooses. Like doing a balloon 🎈 release on his birthday or deathday. But to keep his picture in her wallet can kind of make OP feel like she settled with him. My car true so may has already passed on. Which is very possible, but why string someone else along if that has happened. And now there's a kid involved...

I think it's more than just a picture of a dead boyfriend, it's more a constant reminder that she would be with him if he was still alive and no one will ever be as great and loved by her as he was/is I think he could of asked differently but it's time to start to heal and let him go.

100% agree with you. BF is the AH for being threatened by a dead guy. I can say from personal experience that losing a friend in HS has a profound effect on people.

Unpopular opinion coming. but why is she still holding on it. After she got married and has a family, it’s time to move on and let go. I get it’s sentimental, as I had the same issue, but in order to move forward and grow, you have to let it go. Seeing pictures of him hurts me as I would end up missing him, everyday in my wallet was devastating, so removing that and being happy with whom is alive feels better. I’d say try to compromise and put his picture in a frame somewhere so she can move forward. Holding on is not good for growth.

Yes my ex is dead, motorcycles are not your friends. Every once in awhile I do miss him, but am happier with my SO.

She’s grieving, you can’t rush grief, it takes YEARS for some of the pain to go away, heck, sometimes it NEVER goes away.

Just because she loves and married her husband, dosent mean she still dosen't suffer from grief from the boyfriends death. He is being a bit of an AH. It does not say but if she was in the the car with the boyfriend, she may suffer from survivors guilt. She may actually need some therapy to help process his death. Instead of being jealous over the photo he should try and help her with this grief she has not obviously finished processesing.

I agree with you. Why is he so threatened by someone who isn’t even alive. I could see if he was just finding the picture and she was keeping it a secret but this has been out in the open in their lives and has had no disastrous effects on their relationship so why start developing them now.

To be fair, though, i get where he's coming from. He's not asking her to throw it in the trash or anything. He could just feel like she still loves the dead bf instead of him. Yes, definitely the AH. He was special to her and died, she clearly loved him enough to keep the picture of them together. I’m sure it was traumatic for her. Her husband shouldn’t be threatened by someone who is dead. He should have compassion that his now wife lost someone special to her and wants to keep a little part of him with her. It’s not like the boy is going to come back and take her away from him.

He has feelings too I would have an issue if he took the picture and got rid of it without talking to her. But he’s being mature about an actually having a conversation. Some people just don’t like knowing that the person there in love with love was in love someone before them. I know it sounds silly but it happens. The guy I’m dating right now has an issue with my child’s father, and not in the way you think. He’s just Express that he wish he could’ve been. My child’s father insisted. But my boyfriend is respectful and understand boundaries. And I’m not gonna lie. It will probably bother me too. Like somethings you just have to let go. This is the guy who she spent intimate time. And it comes off that she may still be in love with him, and which it may hurt her current husband.
