Nasser Al Attiyah has accomplished the best time on the day’s special. The unflappable Qatari has taken advantage of a series of problems experienced by his adversaries after 236 km and maintained a sufficient lead to keep Sébastien Loeb at bay, who climbs onto the second step of the provisional podium, 3’29’’ behind his Toyota rival. Henk Lategan pipped Guerlain Chicherit at the post to take third place on the special, almost nine minutes behind the winner.
