Enigma MCMXC a.D.

Here at The Rock Cave we are singing some Gregorian Chants. On 2/12/91 the music project Enigma released the epic debut MCMXC a.D. This is a favorite of mine to this day. SOTD is Sadeness (Part 1).

The first time I came across this album, I was 22 years old, and it was the year 2013. 8 years later, it’s the year 2021, and this album still holds up till this day. I love it. And I plan on buying an original press vinyl of this album.

The record has aged like fine wine. There are deep things expressed on this album, and themes he continued to explore moving forward. Almost every Enigma album is fantastic in its own way. Check out “A Posteriori” and “Seven Lives, Many Faces” as well. Love the Best of the Beast LP in the back 🤘

Quand la vie est difficile, j'écoute cet album et je rentre en méditation. Il a un effet calmant et si on me demande quel album j’emporterais sur une île deserte c'est celui-là.
J’aime beaucoup d’autres musiques et groupes mais cet album, je ne pourrais m’en passer, même après toutes ces années ❤

Truly a great album. Love some of their other stuff too. Have to disagree on the influence of them on Massive Attack though. They came much more from the Hip Hop tradition.
