🔥ANKLE DORSIFLEXION TEST🔥

❌Have you experienced a recent ankle sprain?
❌Or have you experienced an ankle sprain in the past and it just isn’t recovering the way you would expect?
❌Do you have difficulty with getting into a deep squat?

If so, one of the first things a Physiotherapist is likely to assess is your Ankle Dorsiflexion.

💥WHAT IS DORSIFLEXION?

Dorsiflexion is the bend in the ankle, also visually known as when the knee goes over the toe.

💥WHAT HAPPENS WITH DORSIFLEXION?

When this motion occurs, the talus bone in your ankle glides posteriorly (or backwards) on your tibia and your fibular bones. Or if your foot is planted and in contact with the ground the fibula and tibia move anteriorly (or forward). If this motion does not occur you may perhaps have limited dorsiflexion.

💥WHAT IS AVERAGE RANGE?

Typical dorsiflexion is typically known as approximately 3 to 4 inches past your toe.
