I moved to OH from WA in 2019. I've been watching videos from my Geology guru, Nick Zentner, about Washington state and the Pacific Northwest, then decided to see what I could learn about Ohio's geology. I was so glad to find this video! I know OH is much older than WA (which is mainly made up of exotic terranes), so figured there'd be some fascinating things to learn about it. I'm originally from New Hampshire, so I know the east has some much older geology than Washington does. Thanks so much for this video! I knew OH was a beautiful state, so it's wonderful learning more about its long history and formation. I've got the OH Roadside Geology book, of course, which is also quite informative.

Ohio has Lake Erie on our northern border, the Ohio River on our southern border, the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains to our east, and farmland on the western border. We have several rivers, lakes, waterfalls, snow skiing, reservoirs and forests.
We have fishing, hunting and trapping in the rural areas, aand manufacturing and shopping in the cities .
We have the "Elite ", and we have "Amish Country ".
The people in Ohio are generally friendly.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Once you see the erosion in the underfit river valleys you can appreciate the power and scale of giant floods from the ice sheet 22-14k years ago.

20:38 Um, Caesar Creek State Park is in Clinton and Warren county. Not Clinton and Wayne county. Wayne county is in northeastern Ohio. I live only a few miles from the park and hike the trails several days per week. Loads of fossils in the overflow area.

Ohio once had a duck that sat in a pepper patch all day and flew backwards at night to cool its tail.

I believe what happened at Mt. Saint Helens is proof that magnificent features are not proof of millions of years: Creation and Worldwide flood = proof of a Creator.
I live on Paint Creek State park where floods have changed the landscape drastically over 30 years.

The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof ; the world, and they that dwell therein .
For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods .
PSALMS c/ 24 v/1-2

PSALMS c/104 v/6 -9

Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains .
At thy rebuke they fled ; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away .
They go up by the mountains ; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them .
Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over ; that they turn not again to cover the earth .

Isn't it wonderful that we can date the earth to be five days older than Adam .
