Lee's face is just so on point every second of this clip. I can nearly read his thoughts, just looking at his eyes. Brilliant acting.

He says more with his eyes here than most actors say with their mouths. He is so talented. Never a role so well-cast as Lee Pace as Thranduil.

Lee Pace's acting skill in facial expression for this scene is simply amazing. His eyes and face are already enough to tell his words without having him speaking.

"Here is a 55 second scene that explains why there might be a conflict that grows to define the next 9 hours of film"... "Nah, screw, it, it's boring; cut it out."

Someone on the executive team is a fool and a disgrace.

later on..."oh, so you want my help? you want me throw away my people's lives in a useless battle against a dragon to help you when you just stole the only thing I have to remind me of my dead wife? let me think about this...hmm...still thinking....nah, turn around guys we're going home"

0:37 A really nice touch to see Thorin turn to Thror in surprise. It offers a subtle insight into that recurring theme involving him and his grandfather.

Good job Thror. Good luck with that dragon.

Lee Pace is such an incredible actor. Throughout the entire movie, you could see that he completely embodied Thranduil and projected the character's emotions so convincingly. He deserves a lot more credit than he gets.

Thraduil is the best part of the Hobbit.

I can't believe they didn't keep that simple minute in. I mean...seriously, that was important stuff. For one thing, it makes Thranduil's decision look more relatable, and for another...well, you know. Bilbo talking about how sheer greed can break friendships and the hurt look on his face. I don't want to spoiler, but...does that sound familiar? (He hasn't forgotten it in all those years...poor dear...)

This scene is SO good...! I'll never understand why they deleted it. The acting is just perfect and it explains a lot abt Thranduil and his motives and why the Elves and dwarves hated each other so... I LOVE this scene

Jeeez King Thranduil is so enchanting, he deserves a stand alone prequel!! Make it happen Peter!

Just look at Thranduil's eyes!!! Sooo expressional!!! He was surely offended by this treatment so, that's a possible reason why he didn't help the dwarves!!!

Elf dude: keep your treasure, the life of a dwarf is a mere blink in the eyes of an elf

OMG! You can literally pin point the exact moment when Thranduil internally loses his shit with the dwarve! LOL

Describe Thranduil:
"Ten seconds of screen time, rise a fanbase greater than Legolas in the 3 LOTR movies"

Yep Thrandy, you're that fabulous

Eru bless Lee Pace. This scene is so powerful. Elbereth knows how much I'd love to see a movie about Thranduil past life, his wife, Legolas as an elfling, Aragorn as a child...
