Desktop modes are excellent features. The trouble is finding good hardware to USE the desktop mode. If you have to fire up a whole other computer, why use the desktop mode? A laptop dock might be the right fit for you. A larger screen, a proper keyboard and trackpad, the ability to attach other USB accessories. Your phone is more powerful than you know...

These docks are getting really cool! I think the one thing missing is a place to stash your phone on the back. That would certainly up the portability even more.

I love this so much. Im really into this as a replacement for tablet upgrades, just devise some way to attach your phone and also use it as a tablet, that becomes a laptop, then it becomes.3 devices in one. Time for me to make a phone mount on my 3d printer for something like that.

I'm sure many have already said it, but at $599, or really should a backlit keyboard... Heck, some $400 Windows laptops have backlit keyboards. A 20, 000+ mAh battery would be just about right. I guess we just need more companies to compete in this space to drive prices down. I hope this is successful!

That keyboard cover looks goofy, like you said they should make a properly sized one.

5:18 tablets in particular. There's so much space to work with that it is just straight up penny pinching. If only Sony made consumer tablets with basically the same specs and feature options as the Xperia 1 iii.
What I would give for an Android tablet with specs like those!

Great idea, but definitely on the pricey side. This is premium tier pricing, but I think some of your previously reviewed solutions have more bang for the buck.

Looking at the keyboard flip cover, I can understand why there isn't a 15.6" Windows tablet. If this detachable lapdock has around 12" to 14" screen, that would make good sense. I like the convertible lapdock idea like in UPERFECT X and the upcoming NexDock 360, but a lapdock with a detachable screen? Now that is slick.

While I do welcome the new third USB-C port since the standard UPERFECT X only has two, the loss of microSD card slot can be a real bummer for phones without microSD card support like the Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup.

This would be interesting if it has active pen support, allowing it to be a drawing tablet as well. With software like Clip Studio Paint available on Android, the phone can be a serious art tools nowadays. Display tablet like Wacom One and Huion can be connected to a phone already.

Great review and agree with everything! So much so, ordered the X version. This one is just a little too much money and not quite good enough. But, great to see things happening in this space, people who haven't used Samsung Dex don't how much a phone can do!

I got a NexDock 360 Touch the other day. My primary complaint is I wish I could DP and PD over any USB-C port. It would be nice, for instance, to just plug one USB-C cable between a NexDock and a MiniPC to have the laptop form factor when I need it, and still stay charged.

As great as this looks, I can't justify buying it when the NexDock is both cheaper and more versatile.

I would love another version of this. Because honestly, I don't do that much in daily tasks that would require Windows or MacOS (except for audio production). But for basic office productivity, this is a solution. If I had to, I could use Cubasis or FL Studio Mobile for a mobile DAW. But we need more like this. It would save a ton of money for a lot of people.

Just subscribed to your channel, really enjoying your review, realistic and less show, these monitors appeal to me as I have gravitated to Dex being able to facilitate the far majority of what I need to accomplish within a day, now with travel I am in the market for a nextdock360, I have a Pepper 🌶️ Jobs extended touch, has battery, touch, and I find it limiting with the onboard battery though, albeit durable, dropped it twice no less off a bar counter(1200mm)height, onto the corners, still rocking. Yes the hassle of a separate keyboard and mouse are making me look at the nextdock360 or a Chromebook, ordered the new pixel 6pro and hoping some of this will be able to still be useful then. I haven't used one yet. But there are portable monitors that have Miracast built in and use Bluetooth for touchscreen. Mirror your phone display and you basically have a tablet.

I'm still waiting for mine to be shipped. Was waiting for a week already. But lable for it was already created. I chose the 4k one because with a coupon you get when putting your email in, it becomes for me nearly the same price as the 1080 one.
