It’s one thing to copy another movie completely, but did you know about these films that also completely forgot to add the charm of the original film they stole from? While we enjoyed these animated films, haven’t we seen this somewhere before? Join us as we look at some of the “lifting” other films have done from Disney and Pixar. These Disney and Dreamworks copycats leave little up for debate. For this list, we’ll be looking at times where films from Disney and Pixar were followed by movies with similar premises from Dreamworks. Actually, Dreamworks Animation's Antz was released BEFORE Disney and Pixar's A Bug's Life.

90's kid here: Antz & A bug's Life came out the same year. Actually I prefer Antz over A bug's Life. It wasn't a rip-off at all.

Antz is better than a Bug's Life and it came out before it.

I never thought Antz was all that bad, watched it multiple times.

And even the first time I saw The Wild (have only seen it twice), I could tell it was similar to Madagascar, especially having a lion and a giraffe as part of the main cast.

There's also this horrible Puss in Boots ripoff called "The True Story of Puss 'n Boots" Which had terrible acting, meh on animation, and just bad in general, though it's extremely funny how they didn't even try to hide it.

Just becuase Antz featured bugs doesnt mean its a ripoff. Antz was like a horror movie for kids esspecially the war part. Still cool movie tough.

Regarding Antz and Bugs life: Jeff Katzenburg got the idea for Antz from when Lassiter pitched the idea for Disney. When Katzenburg left Disney to help found Dreamworks, he took that idea with him.

Antz was released before Bugs life

Edit: Antz was released in 1998 Toronto Internation film Film Festival on September 19, 1998. Came to USA on October 2, 1998.

Bugs life was released by pixar in November 14, 1998.

But because its another Ant movie youll probably assumed someone copied from someone.
