The British part made me laugh hahaha, I just remembered that in my country we don't have vending machine in our school, we have people who sell foods to fund their thesis and we always support and buy their goods

Very relatable!! Until you get to uni! And then you have them! I think it's mainly because they tend of have a ton of crud in them which is against school health movements (even though they still give us pizza and burgers at the canteen)

The school vending machines in my state are only allowed to work before and after school, so you almost never see them actually working unless you do extra curriculars

When I was in high school, they had the vending machines set up so they would only work before and after the school day, stopping at 8 AM, and working again at 3 PM. Later on, the timing got messed up and they would close at 7 AM and reopened at about 2 PM.

Yes! People in my British private school started selling panachocola (dunno how to spell it) and cinnamon buns for £1 each - they get them from the breakfast hall for free if they board or go for early clubs

In my school (which is British) we have a vending machine but it’s all things that were baked by the dinner ladies and haven’t been restocked in years so it’s all very stale and crusty

A long time ago when I was in primary school they installed a vending machine in the canteen. Crazy thing was, they did so because of an oral examination where on of the questions was whether the school should have a vending machine.
Apparently this one students answered so well that the idea was actually implemented.
Unfortunately, they removed it a few months later.
