Um, I am way late to this opinion, but firstly. The range for this song is insane! It's all over the scale! Sounds like a nightmare to pull off live. For as tough as this song is, she did great!

Is it possible that she had issues with hearing herself? Earphones were prob wrong loudness and shit, when guy stops playing on drums on 1;08 she perfectly hits the spot. So either it was that or she took something before the damn perfomance. Still Iconic :)

I think she was just bored of the song and trying to do what other artists accomplish when they do this, make it unique, it’s live. It didn’t go great here but Regina Spektor is famous for this. I think this should not get hate like it does. She was changing it up.

Let’s just say I’ve seen plenty of live SNL bands and she was not terrible. Even Frank Zappa in 1976 was terrible. Remember “ I am the good from your video”? Commenters should try singing live on that tiny yet intimidating LIVE stage at midnight
