I ordered one set of 10499 and one set of the 10498 .

The smaller 10499 are great for any car, they state min height at 11" but it actually closer to 10 1/4" and Max height at 17" . They can be raised to meet the min 13" height of the 10498's and match heights up to 17". I have never had the need to raise car over 17" ( besides, my jack only raises 18". The 10498 are in case I ever have a 4x4 and need the 23" max height. ( plan to get the HF Daytona Super Dity Jack, with just over 23" lift height. The Esco jacks are the best I have ever owned - and I'm not paid to say that.

That "easily lower" part is why those jack stands are so damn dangerous. Pins = safety

Thanks for mentioning they are only for higher up vehicles, my car is really low to ground.

I don’t understand why you’d say these are too tall for regular sedans? Who ever uses those small stands on their minimal setting? Unless maybe you’re only working on brakes/hubs/axles, but even then with most vehicles the suspension has enough travel to droop the tire to the ground. Even on a fully dropped coupe on coil-overs, I’ve never used those small stands on minimum setting, there’s just not enough room to work underneath the car.

It’s actually nice that this stand starts taller on minimum setting, providing better stability overall, without having to extend.

Man these jack stands are A1 for the money. They are professional grade, shop grade. they are made to hold a car up for long periods of time, not to change a tire. no one uses jack stands to change a tire. these are for guys who want real safety in their car isn't going to fall on them while he's changing out a clutch, or any lower engine work for 5, 10hrs of wrenching. There are no cons in these stands.

Thanks for making this video. They also have a shorter version out now. I just ordered 4 so hopefully they’re a good height for my VW. I like how sturdy they look - I’m not trying to die.

Just a few more pumps of the jack, and you will have room. Id feel safer with the meaty stands. Also, just throw a piece of plywood on the asphalt under the smaller stands. It wont sink then. ( I really didnt think Id have to point these things out, but...)

I respect your opinion Sir but I use ESCO Jack Stands on my 1983 Mercedes 300sd Sedan and they work great without a hitch. Thanks for the analysis and I guess its true. To each his own. ^_^ Thanks for the video

INCORRECT info provided. These ESCO Jack stands are NOT rated for 6 Tons EACH, they are rated 3 Tons each, 6 Tons Combined. Unlike regular so called 3-Ton stands where most are rated for 3-tons combined, not 3-tons each (most 3-ton sets are basically only 1.5 Tons each, unless otherwise stated).

You might have mistaken their 6, 000 lbs rating per stand to mean, 6-tons per stand. But 6, 000 lbs is only 3-tons, not 6.

Note - you don't attempt to support 12, 000 lbs with a pair of stands. U.S. Regulations require that Jack stands be rated as a pair, with max load being equal to a single stand . This is for ALL Jack stands.

I like your socks. :D At first I thought they did look quite a bit higher but when you had your car jacked up, it wasn't so much of a difference. I would buy jack stands primarily for the stability.

Hahaha I just realized this guy thinks that people using these stands are just changing tires all day! 😂🤣🤣

Guy, that’s probably the LAST thing most people that buy these use them for. They’re for doing work under the car, We actually need room to work in that case.

How it possible to do work under the car with less than 15” clearance? I think the round one isn’t too high at minimum level.
