I am constantly reminding my kids how much I love them. They are my world, my heart, my soul.

As a 48 yr mother of 2 who never got a hug from her mother or an ‘I love you’. I made it my mission that when I had kids, I would hug them and tell them how much I love them- EVERYDAY! it absolutely does make a difference. Their whole face lights up!

You're 100% right!!! Children who get affection grow up to be affectionate adults. It's such an important part of life and we really need to remember this!!! Hugs reaffirm relationships and they can calm people after a bad day. They give LOVE, something we sorely need today. And everyday!!! ❤ So give someone a hug today. We all need it❤😊💖💗🧡💞💓💕😇🤗☀️🕊️

My daughter is 38 today. She still comes to me and says "mom I need a hug." I stop what I am doing and give it to her. She doesn't say why, just that she needs it. That's enough for me.

It is vital. Never stop doing it. With your spouse and children. And grandchildren. So important.

I complemented my wife on a new outfit she purchased in front of my two adult daughters one day. I guess they were impressed with the affection I showed my wife after all our years of marriage.
To me it was just being normal.

God Bless you Meghan for sharing your story.

I agree 100%. Everyone needs the loving touch of another family member. More so when they were younger.

I remember my little girl came home from school asking if we were getting a divorce. I said No, what makes you ask? She said, Well, Daddy didn’t kiss you goodbye this morning. Poor thing went all day thinking this😔 Sometimes it’s the smallest action.

My mom was so affectionate and hands-on with all of us kids. We always felt so loved. My brother is a great husband and father. All of us kids are that way.

Thanks for bringing this up. I believe it's very important to show affection. I loved cuddling with my children when they were little. You brought a great point, in our family our teens only have us since they don't have girlfriends yet. My sons are still not embarrassed to hug dad either. Thank you Megyn.

I am childless by circumstances, but I think it's great advice for parents.
