As a fun note: Madison actually acts more happy that Hamilton is destroying John Adams' reputation in the workshop. Actually, workshop Madison, in general, seems to have something against John Adams and I don't know why exactly. I tried looking it up but I can't seem to find anything specific really. Maybe it was just a thing with pretty much everyone at the time but I just know that Madison specifically seemed to have it in for John Adams. Like, seriously, Jefferson actually has to cut him off in the workshop version of this song

Also, Jefferson reacting negatively to John Adams calling Hamilton a "creole bastard" could be a reference to the fact that he himself has children who are of interracial heritage. I'm more specifically talking about his children with Sally Hemmings (which, may I say, is disgusting. Hemmings was 14 when she and Jefferson first got into their 'relationship' and it's likely that he got her pregnant with at least one, if not _six children_)
