Scott has been an active advocate for customers and employees in the technology space for over 20 years, with roles ranging from sales, customer advocacy, and customer service leadership. Previously, he was the vice president of LinkedIn’s Customer Operations organization. In his former role as head of Mindfulness and Compassion at LinkedIn, Scott blended his lifelong practice and passion with his practical leadership and operations experience. His mission is to change work from the inside out by “mainstreaming mindfulness” and “operationalizing compassion.”

“It’s time. The world is ready to talk about compassion at work. Workplaces are playing an increasingly active role in shaping values and behaviors in a way that governments and religions have for centuries. I think we have an incredible opportunity to shape the consciousness of the world in a positive way.”

Sounds True was founded in 1985 by Tami Simon with a clear mission: to disseminate spiritual wisdom. Since starting out as a project with one woman and her tape recorder, we have grown into a multimedia publishing company with more than 80 employees, a library of more than 1500 titles featuring some of the leading teachers and visionaries of our time, and an ever-expanding family of customers from across the world. In more than three decades of growth, change, and evolution, Sounds True has maintained its focus on its overriding purpose, as summed up in our Mission Statement.

Accepting the impermanence of everything. Accepting that we are not our thoughts nor emotions. Realizing that our illusionary Ego is the source of our needless suffering. May you be at Peace.

'Righteous Indignation' is it ever logical? I often find myself at a protest rally organized by a fellow Quaker. Often we are lending our predominately (unfortunately) privilege to make known an injustice being actively and presently perpetrated on a clan of less privileged Americans. A march is better than a rally, breathing can aid calming. I not only try to multi-task (recalling passages from a mystics writings, offering Challah and honey to police officers). I think learning to be totally in the present (with all its sensory assaults) is a reasonable goal. I worry that white privilege is learning to shut ourselves off from the language of pain being yelled.
