My husband taught me this as well. We only give. Expectations are potential, future resentments.

I learned from a pastor long ago that God our Father blesses us so we can be a blessing. And I want to be a blessing.

I love how respectfully you speak of your husband, often giving him credit for things. It’s such a lovely quality! ❤

I always give without expecting anything back… it has blessed my life and gives me more peace. 🙏🏽✝️

Amen, so important. My grandmother always told me that, that when you give something, whether it be to borrow or the like, let it be an amount that you are comfortable not getting back; that you don’t miss.

She is absolutely right! If someone needs to borrow money, just give it to them. If it becomes a habit of them asking for money, just learn how to say no.🙂👍

My husband taught me the same lesson. When you give, you give with no expectations of ever getting it back. That way you can be free.

“I don’t want it back!” 🙏 “Give without expectation.”

My mom raised me this way and I’m so happy she did, because now that I have less than ever, I don’t mind at all as long as I have exactly what we need all the time ❤

If you don't have it to give, you don't have it to lend! Yes, give without strings. If it comes back, it's a blessing.

Same with my husband. And I'm so grateful because not getting paid back just creates bitterness

My parents always taught us that you don't lend money with the thought you'll get it back and you don't give, expecting to receive.

Hallelujah!
When we FREELY give, WE DONT LACK IN ANYTHING!
Thank You, Lord.

I had some friends that were in need of $ once a very long time ago, and I had a little bit of extra money, and I asked my dad about loaning them some money. And like her husband, his advice was excellent, he said Diana if you loan them the money do it with no expectation of ever getting it returned. If they repay you, that’s great if they don’t then you never expected it, and it won’t ruin your friendship. So I did, and they paid me back when they got their tax return and I was able to help them through a really difficult time. So it was a win-win situation.

I feel the exact same. Money isn't worth the potential loss of that relationship
