FeiyuTech Scorp C Review - Small, Lightweight, Steady, But with Some Trade Offs

Показать описание
The FeiyuTech Scorp C is a lightweight budget gimbal which packs all the features of more expensive gimbals. It is small in size, has built in axis locks, supports up to a 2.5kg payload and has a built in battery with quick charge.

What more could you want from a gimbal? Well, it shoots really smooth footage and there is a host of accessories you can buy to compliment it. Like all of my reviews, we do have to point out the negatives and there’s a few which might affect how you use this gimbal. Let’s dive into what is great and not so great.

Had mine for about 6 months and it paid off immediately doing different project. Got me through a lot. I agree with the cons you mentioned, although you do get used to it

No matter what lens I use on my A7 IV or how balanced it is, the motors start shacking and vibrating so that most of the time it is unusable. I think I will give it back.

I just got the Scorp with the focus motor specifically because I wanted to be able to use the zoom on a gimbal. However it’s VERY limited. The motor has plenty of power, but it doesn’t work with smaller diameter lenses that require more torque because its design makes it impossible for it to press against them hard enough to prevent it skipping gears. This means I have to use a lens that weighs 650g (Fuji 15-55 f2.8) instead of my standard 300g video lens (18-55 f2.8-4). And no matter how carefully you calibrate the zoom start and end points, it always stops a little before, so you lose a couple of mm of the lens’ range. It would probably work ok with the 18-120 f4 motor zoom lens as that requires much less force to operate the zoom ring and its weight is half way between the other two lenses.

Hey, does it only cater to mirrorless cameras or can I use it with any type of camera?

Is the scorp c working with the Tracking module and the focus motor together? I couldn't find any video to it. Their website writes, that after a firmeware updated the gimbal is compatible. But is it actually working

Hey Chris...thanks for the video. Surprisingly few for this model. Got the Mini 2 recently and have been really enjoying it...but feel limited by the weight. Wanted a little weight capability, but as a newbie to filming, wasn't sure if I needed all the bells and whistles of the more expensive model. Thinking my M6ii for this gimbal...but I have to remove the cage it lives in to change lenses, so my Sigma 30 (fav lens on that sensor) just lives on that camera now...wondering what focal lengths you've found most useful with this model? Also wondering if you still find it useful a year later...as I recognize this is (I think) the oldest of their current line up?

Can the gimbal control the electrical Sony PZ lenses (18-105 PZ) (zoom function)?

I tried vortex mode on the battery with less than 50% and it didn't spin as intended and the battery plummeted to a single yellow light but after switching to the pan mode it reverted back to the almost 50% charge. Weird. If the battery is not that high it wouldn't do the other modes properly.

My setup is a canon Eos m with Nikkor 28mm f3.5, fairly light than your setup.

Hello I just purchased the Scorp C and I’m having trouble balancing. I tried two different combination. Canon 80d w/ Sigma 18-35 and Panasonic G7 w/ Sigma 18-35. Both combos are under the weight limit. Is the sigma 18-35 too front heavy to balance correctly? Any suggestions?

Does it work with Canon 5D Mark 2. How should I pair?? It doesn't have Bluetooth or wifi connectivity

Recently purchased this gimbal. Was wondering what your process was for powering off the gimbal was? How does the gimbal behave? Presume the camera just stays balanced. Thanks in advance

Hello, do you have any idea how long the batteries can last over time? Not being able to change them after a lot of use could be a real problem, don't you think? Thanks

Excelente video. ¿en que calidad máxima de video te deja grabar sin perder el enfoque al ojo en tu camara sony a7III?
Lo pregunto porque con mi ronin s lo maximo que me permitía grabar sin perder el enfoque al ojo es en 1920x1080
