"I mean booze and technology? We've found our niche," says Bartendro's Pierre Michael, one of the exhibitors at Cocktail Robotics, an event which invites innovators to present their drink-mixing machines for cash prizes and glory. Reason TV attended the event, held at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, California on Sunday, Sept. 15, to ask the inventors about the mixing of tech and alcohol.

"I think more and more we feel as though technology is running us," says Alexander Rose, creator of the Tikibot and Manhattan Project. "Having a moment where you get to take back technology and have it do one of those things that you really wanted it to do...it feels good when it happens."

Shot and produced by Tracy Oppenheimer.

I hope the robot doesn't have me wait 15 minutes before it asks me what I want. And I sure as hell hope I don't have to tip the thing!

I would never go to an establishment that has replaced a human with a robot. It's bad enough manufacturing jobs have been taken over, we are on our way to obsolescence without a reworking of our economic system.

It is pretty much the same level of practical functionality of a high end espresso machine fifteen years ago.

Impressive! Keep advancing science. I don't drink though.

You don't want to serve stiff drinks.  That eats into your profit!!!
