While planning special financial projects, spiritual leaders should model generosity. Though we definitely need exhortations to put God first with our material possessions (especially in the area of tithing), models of generosity are often even more impactful because they show that we trust God to provide 'seed for the sower and bread for the eater' (II Cor. 9:10). Those who have little but are generous in sharing what they have with others give from their heart, not because they have to but because they want to. Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.
