On Monday night I became severely ill, had fever, severe stomachaches and I was vomiting.🤮 I couldn’t hold the pains, I went to the clinic n I was examined n the results showed I had gastric infection. Caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated by a certain bacteria 🦠when I recall that day I only ate a takeaway, the nurses even thought I ate something from these Somalian spaza shops. No I did not, these raised a concern that the problem is not these spaza shops only !! Even these big restaurants are not clean at all!!! Let’s be woke South Africa

There are not enough Environmental Health practioners employed at local municipalities . The field of Environmental Health has been neglected and overlooked the past 30 years. The role of the Environmental Health Practioners is to focus on primary health care and to be proactive . There are so many graduates in this field who are unemployed and sitting at home. I personally know a lot who had to go study something else in order to get a job. Graduates like myself had to wait 5 to 6 years to get a job in this field or a similar field. So I say appoint more Environmental Health inspectors who are specialist in their field. Where we are now was bound to happen because of incapacity in an almost unregulated industry.
