Stilfontein Mine | Police to verify presence of illegal miners underground

Police have confirmed that a cage has been lowered underground at Shaft 11 in Stilfontein in North West, to verify reports by community volunteers that there are no illegal miners remaining underground. Police say the total number of illegal miners retrieved in Shaft is sitting at 246, while 78 were certified dead.
