Poetrio is a dynamic working group of three West Coast master musicians Roy Styffe, Scott White and Kelby MacNayr.

Dedicated to exploring both the music of past and living jazz greats, Poetrio centres it’s musical mandate on creation in and of the moment. These celebrated improvisers draw on a shared love of jazz, improvisational music, classical music and folk music from around the world. Poetrio seamlessly blends the world of free improvisation and composition.

In this special presentation, Poetrio share some of the music they have been working on and developing in their residency at James Bay United, celebrating the life and spirit of the great musical master Sonny Rollins.

Expect joy and sorrow uplifting rhythms and mystical possibilities.
