I agree, the NASCAR body does punish teams and drivers because they point out when things are unsafe or just flat need to be fixed.

Harvick is Right! This is stock car racing .Not Indy of F1. Independent suspension don't get it. Plus the car isn't safe! The older cars where better.

1:00 this is 100% how I feel. If they can't prove that it is random, then it more than likely is not.

The whole thing has a bad stink to it.

This was nascar clearly targeting Harvick because he was roasting them on their sad safety culture

Expecting NASCAR to be ethical and transparent is like expecting moonshine-running druggies to be ehthical and transparent: not gonna happen.

If it was not random and they claimed it to be then they lose credibility and have no integrity. I think many of these types of problems can be solved by firing people who lack integrity and hiring some who do. People who lack integrity have no place in any sport, business or government for that matter.

NASCAR needs to let the teams to make changes on the car

It wasn't random at all and they were made example of. You know, back in the 90s Prost was fired by Ferrari for saying the car drove like a truck in reference to him racing that race with no power steering. Do I believe something was wrong with the deck lid? Absolutely. Do I think he was specifically pulled by NASCAR for "random" R&D check because of his comments about NASCARs bullshit car? Absolutely.

It is not random. Same when JGR got caught with tape under front air dam.

I agree they should do the so called “random” absolutely randomly like the bingo ball thing or put ping pong balls in a hat or something else you can’t see into and draw the numbers randomly. It seems like (to me) they punish drivers for speaking out or criticizing the sanctioning body. 😡

When you worry about the 29th place drivers car at the end of the race I’d say it’s definitely stupid. And he wasn’t even a playoffs driver. I feel like it came off as he was targeted. Doesn’t change the fact his car had something on it wrong. But still I’d think you would care about the top 10.. playoffs or not

It’s never random. NASCAR will find something no matter how trivial to punish people for things.

There was nothing wrong with the deck lid until it got to R&D.

If Nascar punished Harvick because he was outspoken about the next gen car issues then that's real scummy of them to do that. Like they being NASCAR needs to start listening to drivers other then trying to punish them for being outspoken and trying to shut them up. That's the one thing that i've hated about NASCAR since I first started watching back in 02. They don't listen and instead punish drivers for speaking up against them. I think this has been going on way back to the Big Bill Sr. days if i'm not mistaken.

Simple there are random number generators . At the end of the race fire it up and pick the "random numbered cars" Very transparent .

We have been painting under the hood flat black for 35 years or more. The running joke is black paint hides all sins. We were having one of our cars ran on a dyno and the tuner noticed it and asked why. We explained to him and now he paints under some of his customer cars flat black under the hood.

Solution: Inspect P1, P2, True Random (drawing), and a NASCAR's manual choice. It makes sense when NASCAR is picking a driver at "random" when it's a fast guy that finished mid pack (highest likelihood of car out of spec), but messed up when it's chosen due to off track actions. Just be honest.

It's a random POST race inspection. I'm spot on with Brett here when he says race is over, spin the wheel or the drum and pick your randoms right there on pit road. If they wouldn't even consider that then they're only gonna use that as a smoke screen cuz it's NASCARS ball and you don't need to be racin there will be the first thing they say.
