Great video I've been steam baking for quite awhile now. The last few months I have been dry baking. I like them both. After a day or two on the trail. Baked goods really hit the spot!

who would have ever thunk it, steam bake...great trick

Never steamed anything before. Looks cool. It looks like it would use a lot of the Jetboil Sol fuel mixture, so I probably wouldn't use it with that. But if I know I will be hiking and building a campfire (with rocks along the edges), I will definitely try this method of cooking something up. Thanks.

Ed in answer to your question. My pot shows no unusual signs of wear after probably 20 dry bake sessions. I use a 12cm Imusa pot with a 10cm Imusa with the handle cutoff for a inner bake chamber. I use a 1/4 " coiled strip of aluminum soda can as standoff. My stove is a Smokeeater908 Mini-Heat alcohol burner used in simmer mode. I burn about 1.5 oz of alcohol and it takes about 30 / 35 minutes.

Using the bag to mix the ingredient is a great idea. Thank you.  P.S. You sound as if you are from my neck-of-the-woods (either South Jersey, the Philly area, or northern Delaware)

Enjoyed the video. I have not tried the baggy but, have used the small cup from my Guyot Designs Squishy Bowl and Cup Set and it works great. have poached and egg, did bannock bread, muffins no problem. Cleans up easy too.

Great stuff! I hope the plastic bag was safe at those temps.I have been told that some plastics may release some chemical in to the food at boiling temps. I have no idea how true this is.... But thanks for the vid!
