Falcon's Fury Review, Busch Gardens Tampa Intamin Drop Tower | World's Scariest Drop Tower?

preview_player
Показать описание
Falcon's Fury at Busch Gardens Tampa was the prototype Intamin Sky Jump. This ride opened as the world's tallest free-standing drop tower, standing 335 feet tall. But more impressively, it featured seats that could tilt 90 degrees during the drop for maximum thrills. But how does it stack up to the other drop towers?

It's one of my favorites, but I think I prefer Dollywood's, especially for the spectacular mountain views. But Falcon's Fury is a must-ride every visit for it's great views and the unique tilting, which does still give me butterflies. I have noticed that it's not the most powerful drop on my more recent visits.

I was salty this was closed for me! This is my number one bucketlist flat rides… I can say seeing this in person is intimidating

I would give the ride a 10. It’s my favorite drop tower for the height and tilting.

My mom filmed me off ride the first time i rode this. The entire time shes having a panic attack and saying shes a horrible mother and scared that im going to die. When the ride tilts, you can tell by her voice shes practically in tears lol.

Pretty sure she was in the middle of planning my funeral when i safely landed at the ground

I was initially intimidated but I found the tilting seats made it just feel like a Dive Coaster, so I wasn’t frightened when riding.

This was the only ride closed when I visited for the first time last weekend, and I was really hoping to ride it. But thats just another reason to revisit the park.

Ive been trying to get on this for about 4 years and finally this week it was open during one of my visits to BGT. Honestly not as scary as I thought. I typically dont like drop towers but this felt more like the drop on a dive coaster, which I do enjoy.

I ride specifically for the view. I typically just walk by to go to Kumba. My friend is obsessed with FF, he has more rides than anyone on it for sure. I prefer the sitting up style drop (which you can get on FF on an evacuation drop), but I have not experienced this from the top, only about 50 feet up.

As someone who loves all type of thrill rides, I almost always skip drop towers these days because the feeling of not being able to breathe due to the power/intensity of the drop is something that I have ever enjoyed (especially on Intamin's 2nd gen drop towers). Luckily, I found Falcon's Fury's drop to be less intense, but far more fun because of this. It's still feels fast and the unique positioning of the drop makes it 10x better than any drop tower I have forced myself to go on. I wish we had more of these in America!

I rode the other Skyjump 'Ikaros' at Gröna Lund, and it's my favorite drop tower. While I didn't get any airtime, the sheer experience was incredible, and it still felt like a downward launch.

What is your theory on why there aren't more of these 90-degree tilt drop towers? Is it reliability? Cost? Popularity? Reading the other comments, opinions of the ride are less favorable than I would have expected. Love this drop tower. The drop itself may not be #1, but the anticipation/terror is.

Rode it for the first time Saturday and I love it. Scariest drop tower I ever rode was the Moser’s Rides (Soriani & Moser) Drop of Fear when it traveled with Conklin Shows.

Unpopular opinion but I think the sound effect sounds kinda cool, like a falcon shrieking as it plummets toward the ground.

Haven't ridden this either, can't wait to get back to BGT in a couple months - Iron Gwazi (salivating already) and this. Oh and I haven't ridden Cobra's Curse either. I know it's not special but it's unique.

I can ride this in 2 week. This may not quite be as tall as ICON Parks but the seats rotate completely down on this one, depends which you prefer. Of corse it has those fantastic views and tons of adrenaline.

Hold on... Didn't the gondola used to rotate on the ascent? I remember that used to be the case in earlier videos of this ride.

I wonder when and why they stopped doing that
