Meenan Transmission E250 Transmission Extensive Damage

This video is of a 4R75W from a 2013 E250 van. This vehicle was brought in with operational concerns. When the transmission was in the park or neutral position there was an extensive amount of noise coming from the transmission. This was an indication of a gear train failure. When the bear selector was put it into drive or reverse clutch components in the transmission would engage and stop the rotation of the gear train and the noise would stop immediately. At that point it was obvious the transmission needed disassembly for internal inspection.

This transmission required extensive internal hard parts above and beyond the normal rebuilding items. These hard parts include planetary gear set, the center support, sun shell, Direct clutch cylinder and an upgraded input clutch housing. In addition to the damage internally the case had grooves in area that feeds the output shaft. These grooves will create a hydraulic leak requiring the case to be re-machine and a new sleeve to be installed. Even with these parts requirements we are still able to rebuild and upgrade this transmission and save money compared to what a remanufactured transmission.
