Replacing a large Reversing Valve deep into an AAON MAU

I did receive a new battle-scar after reaching into this pig to replace that large reversing valve.

When in heating mode it seemed to eventually finish switching over which is where it was when I returned this day to replace it.
When I energized the reversing valve it got stuck midway again.
There was more than 100 PSI differential pressure across the gas ports at the time.

Very nice . I do the same with all reversing valves. Always found it easier with less chance of leak brazing everything up on bench with purging nitrogen through.

Looking good, my dude. I like your strategy; I've done similar things for hard to reach components many times. Anything you can do on the bench instead of standing on your head inside the machine is a win in my book!

I’m sure you have prizm software you could have overridden it on there. If they would have had that RSV right next to the outside panel that you removed it would have been much more service friendly. But AAON for sure went full retard on these.Lol image you had a needle size leak after all that.
Like you mentioned that old valve showed the slider position centered instead of being in either energized or de-energized likely it wasn’t a control issue.
