As a Swede is funny seeing songs you've sung with your family in games

This song is very special to us swedish and finnish people, it is sung every year by the kids in sweden on their last day of the school year at the start of the summer. I miss hearing it every summer. It was written year 1693 and there is many versions.

English translation and longer version :

1. The time of blossom now comes
with lust and great beauty
Now sweet summer approaches
when grass and crops grow
The gentle sun awakens
all that was dead.
It covers all in greenery
and all is reborn.

2. The fair flower meadows
and the noble seed of the field
The rich herbal meadows
and all the green trees
They shall remind us
of the richness of God’s greatness
that we may mind the Grace
which lasts all year.

3. Now we hear birds sing
with many a sound.
Shall not our tongue then
praise the Lord God?
My soul, to the Lord’s glory
voice your song of joy.
Us he wants to richly nourish
and please at the same time.

Here is the continue of the song :

4. O Jesus, you who save,
you are the solace of the weak.
You, sun of joy, we greet.
Warm our cold chest.
Cast love-fire into our heart,
renew soul and spirit.
Turn away all sorrow and pain
which lay on our mind.

5. You beautiful flower of Sharon,
you lily in green valley,
alas, award crowning the soul
with innumerable virtues.
Moisten her often
with dew from above there,
that she as sweetly may perfume
like rose in Lebanon.

6. Bless the year’s crops
and water you our land.
Give all humans food,
bless lake and beach.
Infuse the fertility of the height
downwards to the wide earth.
Fill our soul with the lust
and sweetness of your word.

Swede here, played the game. I expected it to be scary, dark and gritty. What I didn't expect was to fell a tear to this beautiful song and singing by the artist. Coming out from the horrors of the night, into the dawn in a field of blooming "vitsoppor" to this song... Just such an awesome scene. Thank you for this!

I came here from Bramble: The Mountain King. I was blown away when this song played along with the beautiful scenery of the game! And when the song played the second time…I kinda got emotional lol. This song is so beautiful; I feel like I get transported to another world.

As an Englishman, you’ll forgive the fact I hadn’t heard this song before playing Bramble. It’s lovely to hear that it’s part of the traditions for school children to sing at the end of school.

The way that it is sung here however, there is such a great sense of reawakening not only of the life that blooms at the coming of summer, but the re awakening of our own lives… in a fair, bright and eternal land with all those we love. Our sense for such things must have root in some essence of truth.

We knew it would be a great summer when we sung this song, last day in elementary school before the summer vacation in Sweden.

I was freaking out because I remember this song from Alla Vi Barn I Bullerbyn and when it came up in the game the nostalgia just hit like a ton of bricks. This game is so unapologetically Swedish and while I, as a Dane, am obligated to make fun of Swedes, I deeply, deeply love you guys, your nature, your culture, the culture we share and these songs that carry so much dangerous beauty. It is, after all, the way of nordic nature no matter where we go, that nature is alive, beautiful and deadly af. <3

This part of the game literally captivated and hypnotized me.
This beautifully performed song, combined with this scene from the game, is simply a marvel.
Thank you

I started the playing the game a few days ago and I am really enjoying it. I've listened to this song maybe 15 times this week. Absolutely amazing.

This song is hauntingly beautiful.
It makes me feel deep sadness yet happiness in my heart.
Every time I hear this song I cry.
Swedish is a beautiful language despite I know and understand very little I still love the sound of it when spoken. I am Dane myself.

Beautiful song, well done. The game looks like it will be a all time classic, like Ico and other such games before it. Love the mythology as well.

This song has a lot of history in my family, as I would expect since it's super sentimental to the Swedish and Finnish cultures.

My great-great-grandmother, Maria, and her family were originally from Finland but had immigrated to Sweden. A few generations later, some of her siblings had moved to the United States. My grandmother, Margaret, she learned it from her maternal aunt, Anna Elizabeth, one day and fell in love with it instantly. Maria and her siblings had been sung this song as children by their mother, Anna Kajsa.

Maria passed away in 1954, and against her husband's protest, her daughters sung the song at her funeral. Spiteful fella. Since her funeral, the song has been sung at every wedding and funeral since. We also reunited with our long-lost Swedish relatives after roughly 65+ years!
