What is red dyed diesel and why you can't use it in a truck.

I can see it now. Get to prison and someone asks “what are you in for”? Man reply’s “put red dyed diesel in my Cummins truck”. His cell mate would be a guy who tears tags off of mattresses.

during WWII they put red dye in gasoline used by the military so civilians could not use it. people found that you could remove the dye by filtering it through bread.

While Red Diesel cannot be used on the road it can be used for the following:

* Farm Equipment such as tractors or combines while on private farm or ranch property (no offsite use)

* Construction Equipment such as bulldozers, forklifts, and other equipment while on private property or a construction site (no offsite transit)

* Home Heating Oil

* Boats while on a privately owned lake or reservoir (not public)

* Vehicles driven solely on private property and not on any public road or highway

* Electric Generators

* Carnival Ride Equipment while on private land, while at a fair, or event (no on-road transport)

* Stoves and Cooking Appliances built for Diesel use

You can get arrested for getting it, unless you are a farmer, they sell it in buckets where I live

Unless you drive an Edison Motors Truck, then you are good to fill up with the red dye

Generator and water pump is it cheaper than LP gas?
Just put it in my diesel truck no one has ever checked it

Red diesel doesn't have bio in it. Low sulfer. Hobo heating oil

U can use it in any diesel vehicle. Just if you get caught you would go to jail for it if you are not government approved to use it

Most older trucks optic sensors wont see it and your truck wont run ! Gonna have to drain it out i found out on a 6.5 detroit diesel the hard way.
