Indian Air Force has conducted first *extended range* test of BrahMos-A supersonic cruise missile from a Su-30MKI over the Bay of Bengal

Viewers may note that a NO-TAM of 670 Km or 416 miles was already issued by Indian Air Force

The Missile precisely hit the target ship in the Bay of Bengal which led to its sinking.

Indian Air Force stated,
“The extended-range capability of the missile coupled with the high performance of the Sukhoi gives the IAF a strategic reach and allows it to dominate future battlefields”

In this video Defense Updates analyze why India’s successful test of BrahMos-A Extended Range is a key capability boost ?

Instead of made in China we can definitely say this is made FOR China. A 1 square meter hitbox is insanely accurate for a cruise missile. You could pretty reliably kill individual people with this if you wanted. A very impressive piece.

INDIAN NAVY HISTORY TELLS "WHENEVER INDIAN NAVY TAKES PART IN WAR, WORLD MAP CHANGES"

Due to the massive dependency of energy imports from the Middle East, as well as other items, China desperately needs to control the Indian Ocean and Malacca Strait. That is not happening.

I predict Philippino Brahmos missiles hitting red Chinese ships in the not to distant future.

There was a wargames simulation by Grim Reapers, who used this missile in a simulated attack on Chinese Warships:
_(It's 28 minutes long BTW, but a excellent video, I highly recommend it.)_
What they found out is since they fly low and fast, they give the ship's active defenses a very hard time, almost impossible for them to shoot down.
But aircraft have a top-down view. They are easily able to spot the large radar cross sections of the BrahMos missiles, due to their sheer size and the fact that they are not stealth, and target them with air to air missiles. Most air to air missiles exceed mach 4 or higher. The BrahMos tops out at mach 3, realistically it's going to be only 2.5 from what I understand.
Now, I guess it's a good thing for India that China only has 2 aircraft carriers currently, but they could have 5 carriers by 2030. These missiles can't avoid air to air missiles fired from aircraft, and should be used in a way that attack ships when the aircraft are preoccupied, or somehow not present.
I think having smaller, cheaper, missiles that fly at the same speed and altitude, with radar reflectors to make them look like a BrahMos missile, is cost effective solution to this. A decoy swarm, basically.
Now BrahMos-II is another story (not to be confused with BrahMos block II) since it's expected that they'll go at mach 8. They're still under development.

Latest news: India 🇮🇳 has successfully tested it's Hypersonic speed technology demonstrator a few days back and in couple of days, India 🇮🇳 is going to test the long range of it's Hypersonic Technology demonstrator vehicle/missile. NOTAM has already been given.

how fast does the american cwiz system react? I already know the accuracy of it, just wondering if its tracking system is capable of knocking down these...I'm confident they are since it isn't a Hypersonic weapon...which I believe the cwiz can't track fast enough or can't track consistently enough to guarantee a defense.

Loved this weapon system in Command Modern Operations playing as India, thanks for making informative videos about the technology.

USA has GQM-163A supersonic ramjet missile that is faster missile than Brahmos, and using it to test Aegis SAM for decades.
But, supersonic and hypersonic weapon can not be launched safely from ships. This is suicide for russian and indian NAVY. Coz both missiles require high altitide flight profile which is reveal position of your ships for satelites, enemy S\L band radar, jet fighters. This is why NATO NAVY rejected supersonic ramjet missiles dozens year ago. Yes, Brahmos can fly at low altitude, but in range only ~100km. To achieve more ranges need more altitude where air density lower. Thats why subsonic missiles much better, they have low altitude start and flight profile, enemy still doesnot know where is your ship.
You can launch one ramjet from jet fighter, but why? You can launch several subsonics instead.

1 missile from any nation wont sink a destroyer sized ship, they are too large. I suggest watching some sinkex exercises where the US and other nations test on old US ships and how much they can take.

Need more slides as the missile is kinda large and could be detected but still alot of Kinetic Energy to block with just a SAM!

The Brahmos range is very much limited

Brahmos is good becouse its part india and has probably taiwan and israel electronics...

Proven lately that Russian hardware is not very good. I would go for American, French and Swedish fighters even Chinese first.

Why are you spreading lies

Tom hawk = Subsonic; ~Mach 0.74.

Brahmos = around 3 mach

Tom hawk less than one km per second

Brahmos 3 km per second

Impact of Tom hawk is not 9 times ।। its just only the warhead

It's Brahmos which Impact is 36 times

Tom hawk is not even close to Brahmos

Brahmos is 4 time faster and Impact full than Tom hawk

From ships it is a useful design but the air launched version is grossly overweight. When there are only 42 aircraft that can launch it with the amount of borders and sea India has it won't be enough. They should have focused on reducing the weight not only the range. That way a regular aircraft could have launched it. But that is what happens when you use surplus Soviet parts from Russian stores to build them.

Su-30MKI is basically the two-seat version of the Su-35

How many of those Branmos missiles are the Russians asking for😳

'... In conjunction with Russia...' does that mean Russia would be getting their own BrahMos cruise missiles that could be use against Ukraine and Taiwan!?

I just observed that in the map shared below u have mentioned Lacavadia sea but not Indian Ocean. Why ?
